France discovered Denis Urubko in January 2018 when he came to the aid of Elisabeth Revol, in distress at Nanga Parbat. Self-sacrifice: he renounces the K2 which he was attempting the winter ascent; suspense: the wall of the Nanga is huge and the information vague; feat: he climbed 1,200 meters of wall in the middle of the night; luck or miracle: he finds the Frenchwoman in the darkness.
