After the 830 SSDs , Samsung is launching a new range of SSDs that are still 100% Samsung , the Serie 840 Pro . Equipped with a new Samsung 3-Core MDX controller clocked at 300 MHz and Toggle NAND MLC chips , this 840 Pro SSD , with a capacity of 256 GB , sees its performance greatly improved compared to the previous generation.

Speed and performance

Equipped with the SATA III 6 Gb/s interface , this SSD 840 Pro offers transfer rates
up to 540 MB/s read and 520 MB/s write . Thanks to its new Samsung 3-Core MDX controller clocked at 300 MHz against 220 MHz for the Serie 830
, the 840 offers an increased maximum number of operations processed per second
with exceptional maximum IOPS of 100,000 read and 90,000 write !
Fast and efficient, this 256 GB SSD 840 Pro will therefore allow you to multitask without any problem with a minimum energy consumption of 0.069W .

Many embedded technologies

Like any good SSD , this SSD 840 Pro is compatible with SMART and TRIM commands to ensure consistent performance over time. For performance optimization , this SSD is also equipped with the Garbage Collection function which acts as a sort of defragmentation. It will detect the pages in the blocks which can be erased in order to move the programmed pages there and thus free the blocks by making them completely blank. The Magician software is also delivered to you to allow you to update the firmware under Windows , to carry out a "secure erase" or to launch a benchmark of your SSD Series 840 Pro . As for the protection of your data , no worries on this side since it will be ensured thanks to 256-bit AES encryption . In addition, it is also equipped with an LED indicator and supports the WWN (Worldwide Name) standard to allow its integration into storage networks (SAN) .
